Bonifatius Route

The Bonifatius Route is a pilgrims’ way existing since 2004 in honour of the missionary and church reformer Bonifatius. The route from Mainz to Fulda was the final journey of the body of Bonifatius.

Two of the nine legs of the pilgrims’ way touch on Frankfurt: the Bonifatius Fountain, on the fringe of Campus Riedberg, and the Bonifatius Church in Bonames, which is reminiscent of the former funeral procession. Here the route brings together a fascinating outlook: on nature amid the Taunus hills and the skyline of the busy metropolis.
