In addition to the basic idea of an intercultural exchange with different European and international cities or regions, another focus of the Artist in Residence Program is to create the necessary free space and time for the artists to give them new impulses for their works. By experiencing a new surrounding they are given the opportunity to realize their creative ideas.

The Artist in Residence Program provides an opportunity for Frankfurt-based artists to live and work temporarily abroad and to get in touch with other artists and cultural influences in the partner cities. In return they broaden the network between Frankfurt and its partner cities and bring back new ideas and fresh impulses for their own future works.
